Washington and Seattle

Washington

Washington, also known as the evergreen state, is located in north-western America. The capital is Seattle, which features the space needle and other attractions. In the book Jackie's Wild Seattle, they live in Seattle. Right outside of Seattle is Mt. Rainier, which is visible from Seattle as it looms 14,410 feet above the ground. In the book, they also visit other locations including Lake Washington and Coupeville. Some interesting things that you probably didn't know about Washington is that the state tree is the western hemlock and the state fruit is the apple.

Seattle

Seattle is the capital of Washington, and is an important part in Jackie’s Wild Seattle. Two of Seattle’s nicknames are “the city of flowers” and “the city of Goodwill”. In Jackie’s Wild Seattle, a coyote is trapped in an elevator in the Federal Building, located in the central business district of downtown Seattle. There are many major attractions in Seattle, like the Space Needle, a 605-foot structure that looks like a futuristic building. Another major attraction is underneath Pioneer Square, where old downtown Seattle used to be. Shannon has to rescue a raccoon in the old streets and alleys in that exact place. Pike Place Market is a very famous marketplace in Seattle that is well known for it’s “low-flying fish”. These are really fish that employees throw to each other to wrap up for a customer. Cody really enjoys Pike Place Market! Seattle is a great city and a great place for Jackie’s Wild Seattle to be based in.Wa_Maps.jpg
